5th Edition of Le Dîner en Blanc - Portland!

Located in the North West of the United States and the biggest city of Oregon, Portland will celebrate its 5th edition of Le Dîner en Blanc on Saturday, August 12th. This milestone offers us a chance to look back on the previous editions and to introduce the new hosting team!

Portland is known to be one of the most ‘eco-friendly’ cities of the country, it is also nicknamed “The City of Roses” due to its numerous gardens full of roses, including the International Rose Test Garden. So, thanks to all these iconic places, Portland is the perfect city to welcome Le Dîner en Blanc! The mystery remains: where will the 5th edition of Le Dîner en Blanc - Portland be?  In the past, guests have gathered at the Jamison Square, the Zidell Yards, Pioneer Square and Custom House. We leave you guessing where this one will take place!

This is will be the 5th edition of Le Dîner en Blanc - Portland but the very first for the hosting team composed of Sonali Shivdasani, Julia Raymond and Melony Beaird.

Fun fact about the hosts: None of them have attended any of the previous editions! Nevertheless, we are certain that the evening will be a huge success because of their vast experience in event planning.

Sonali has been working in event planning for more than 10 years. She started her career in Washington D.C. working for clients such as Booz Allen Hamilton and Louis Vuitton. Missing the West Coast, she came back to Portland and currently works at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI). Also working at the OMSI for the past 7 years, Melony is the in-house event planner for the museum, events that include the Museum Annual Gala. Prior to that, she worked for a non-profit organization where she was also in charge of planning their events. Last but not least, Julia has been planning parties and other gatherings since she arrived in Portland nine years ago - rounding out a team that has all the creativity and experience needed to make this magical night one to remember.

•    When asked to describe their relationship with their city and what is it about your city that makes hosting Le Dîner en Blanc such a good fit?
Julia says ‘Sonali and I have both lived here for nine years and Melony has been in Portland for 14 years. We’re all enamored with Portland’s uniqueness: its big city benefits - nationally recognized restaurant and food scene, museums, shops and more – as well as its proximity to amazing resources like the Columbia River Gorge, Mt. Hood, etc. Our city comes alive during the summer and an event like Le Dîner en Blanc gives us an opportunity to embrace and celebrate that energy.’

To Le Dîner en Blanc - Portland, we wish you a happy 5th anniversary! If you want to participate (tickets are still available), register here:
