Despite the cold weather beginning in the northern hemisphere in November, many cities enjoy this time of the year as the perfect climate to host Le Dîner en Blanc! Indeed, 10 events are planned and very much expected this month in 3 continents: Africa, America, and Oceania. A grand premiere for Orange County in California! Bringing together several cities including Newport Beach, Irvine, Huntington Beach, and Laguna Beach, located almost halfway between Los Angeles and San Diego, Orange County offers the ideal landscape to bask and have fun under the stars. Since its first edition in 2012, Le Dîner en Blanc - Brisbane continues to expand its circle of friends. From the 1,000 participants at its beginning in the South Bank Cultural Forecourt (with the illuminated Ferris wheel as a background), to the 3,000 guests who gathered last year for the 5th anniversary at the Botanic Gardens, this magical event keeps growing year after year. Le Dîner en Blanc - West Palm Beach is back for a 3rd edition! The first event took place in 2015 on West Palm’s Great Lawn. Last year, 800 guests gathered at the Palm Beach Maritime Museum for a beautiful night under the stars. Where will this year’s edition be? The second Floridian event of the month: Le Dîner en Blanc - Orlando. Last year’s inaugural edition was a success in part because of the festive spirit of the committed guests and the beautiful musicians, singers, and dancers who added even more cheerfulness into the evening. Orlando is famous for hosting various festive events. The city attracts 52 million tourists a year and is the second most-visited city in the United States, thanks to its many amusement parks and attractions. Le Dîner en Blanc - Haïti had its premiere event back in 2013. Over the years, the event has taken place in some of the country most beautifully historic places: the Musée Ogier-Fombrun tracing the history of slavery, the Ranch le Montcel, and finally, the Musée du Panthéon National Haïtien - representing the Haitian historical and cultural heritage. The city of Houston is slowly recovering from the damage left by Hurricane Harvey. After much thought and discussion with the volunteers, the hosts of Le Dîner en Blanc - Houston decided to move forward with the 3rd edition. They truly believe that gathering friends around a delicious meal, celebrating the city and its sense community, is the best way to recover. Le Dîner en Blanc - Adelaide will celebrate its 5th edition to the delight of its hosts, Melanie Moffatt & Samanda Smith. The capital and largest city of Kenya, Nairobi will host their 3rd edition of Le Dîner en Blanc - Nairobi. The first edition brought together 400 friends at the Uhuru Gardens Memorial Park, a park commemorating Kenya’s independence from the British Empire in 1963. Last year, 500 guests attended the memorable night in the Garden City Village – even the few raindrops could not to dampen the party and the spirit of the guests. The month ends like it started, with another grand premiere: Le Dîner en Blanc - León. The main city of the state of Guanajuato in Mexico, León was founded by the Spaniards in the 16th century. Today, it is mainly known for its hot air balloon festival “El festival del Globo”.
